Research, Leadership, Advocacy and Counseling:
Supervision: To be completed in COUN 8135
Research: This is an arena I really need work developing in. I have no previous research experience, and the only exposure I have had to research thus far in this program is RSC 8110 with Dr. Johnson.
Leadership/Advocacy: Thus far, in my short career I have become involved with national organizations like The National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws (NAMSDL), and journalists with The Reading Eagle, Morning Call, Spotlight PA, Keiser Health, and was able to be featured with The Inquirer. Much of my work thus far has been engaged with looking at the substance use disorder treatment sector and brining awareness and attention to the need for law establishment and regulation.
Counseling: For the past eight years, I have worked throughout varying levels of substance use disorder treatment. Starting with inpatient (non-profit), and transitioned to a step down model (for-profit). Thereafter, I worked in private practice using harm reduction approaches with clientele.
